How To Support Local Businesses While Social Distancing

Table of Contents

As the term ‘social distancing’ has suddenly risen to the top of everyone’s mind, we find ourselves searching for ways to support our community at a safe distance of at least 6 feet.

And local businesses are stepping up to offer specials on takeout food, delivery services, and online options. So it seemed like a great idea to create a resource for these offers for Lake Hartwell locals.

Ways To Support Local Businesses

This list will be updated as needed, but even if your favorite business isn’t listed here, there are a few things you can do to support them in this strange new world.

Follow their Facebook or Instagram

You might not have thought about following a local business on social media, but these are great places to keep up to date with their changes and offers.

Help them out by reacting and sharing their posts, tag a friend who could use their services, or write them a glowing review to show how much you love them!

Keep your membership

Look for your gym, yoga studio, or any other type of membership location to start offering online classes. This is a great way to maintain your habit and help a small business.

In Hartwell, Studio 4 WholeHealth is offering yoga and barre classes via a private YouTube channel for its clients.

Buy gift cards

Purchasing a gift card is a great way to send local businesses some love and allows you to take advantage of your purchase when things go back to normal.

If the business doesn’t have an online purchase option, give them a call. They’ll be glad to hear from you and make accommodations to get you your gift card.

Shop their online store

Call or search online to find out if a local business has an online ordering option. This is an easy way to make your purchase and have the items shipped to your home.

Sometimes a business will have an online shopping option right on their Facebook page, so you can scroll their offerings quickly and easily on your phone.

Make Virtual Appointments

Living Down South Realty is offering complimentary consultations for Buyers, Sellers, or Investors via virtual meetings. We are able to offer market analysis, pre-listing appointments, checklists, strategies for the current market, etc.

WoodmenLife is offering virtual appointments and servicing options for insurance needs. We give back to the community through care packages, food drives, and monetary donations all through the year!

Treat yourself a little

If you can afford it, now is a great time for small splurges. Order a special dinner for takeout, buy a box of goodies from the bakery, or even purchase a pretty pair of earrings.

These little reminders of the good things in life not only lift your mood but help a small business owner breathe a little sigh of relief.

Take advantage of specials

Local businesses are making special offers and deals to entice you to shop with them. Take advantage of their offers! Here are some local business specials.
